"Ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls". Jeremiah 6:16
Make one change this year for a healthy body… healthy mind… healthy soul… Walking by Faith, emphasis on walking (or running/jogging if you prefer!) is a new small group forming around those who want to get moving, and work toward a healthier lifestyle. This group is forming with the intention to participate in “The Walk to End Homelessness 2019” on March 23 in Kalamazoo. According to the Social Principles of the United Methodist Church we are called to pursue a healthy life style which includes preventive health care, good nutrition, health education, and secure housing in achieving health. Anyone is welcome to check this group out, no experience is required! In addition, the group will participate in the all church book read during Lent, titled Unafraid by Adam Hamilton. Walking by Faith will meet Saturdays at 10:30am at Bicentennial Park on E. Milham Ave. We will be walking outside; dress accordingly. Please contact Tonya Boot at email@example.com with signup or questions.
All Church Book Study The all-church book study will begin March 3 and continue through April 7. We will be reading Unafraid: Living with Courage and Hope in Uncertain Times by Adam Hamilton. The book addresses a range of fears that we experience every day, and how to cope with those fears and anxieties by leaning into our faith and trusting God. This is a Lenten book study, and Pastor Barry’s messages during Lent will have this vision in mind. The books are now available to be picked up in the office for a suggested donation of $15, and will be made available in the lobby in the coming weeks. As always, if the cost of the book is prohibitive you are welcome to pick up a copy anyway. And if you feel moved to cover the cost of more than one book to help another, please feel free to do that as well. To learn more, or to get connected to a Small Group for the book study, contact Tonya Boot, Director of Discipleship, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
