Whether you are leaving your precious baby with one of our caring nursery attendants or waving goodbye to your kindergartener as he or she skips into Bible Times Square for Faith Village Sunday School, you want to know that your child will be safely waiting for you when you return. That’s why last year we began the roll out of our computerized check-in system.
Nursery
Upstairs in the nursery check-in, attendants will check-in your child and print out an adhesive name badge for the child along with a matching ticket for the parents to keep. When it’s time to pick up your child, simply present the ticket and we will be able to quickly and securely check-out your child. This system also allows parents to let the nursery attendants know of any special concerns or needs their child has that day, and have those details printed out on the child’s name badge so all workers in the nursery will easily see these notes.
Preschool – Sixth Grade
Downstairs for the preschool through 6th grade students, the process is slightly different. All students will find their nametags on the blue cart and check themselves in by scanning the back of their nametag at the lower level Welcome Desk. You and invited to accompany your Preschool student to the preschool classroom (Rm.119). Kindergarten through Fourth Graders will head in to Bible Times Square (Rm.109) for Faith Village opening time and Fifth and Sixth Graders will proceed to Club56 (Rm.108).
Each week the workshop schedule for Faith Village is posted on the “Big Board” bulletin board near the lower level Welcome Desk. Make sure to take note of which workshop your Faith Villager is scheduled for each Sunday.
At the end of Sunday School you may pick up your child at his or her classroom. Preschool through Second Graders will remain in their classrooms or workshops rooms until picked up by a parent. Third through Sixth Graders are dismissed from their classes at 11:15 and generally meet parents in the Lower Level foyer or at another prearranged spot.
We hope you’ll agree that this system is simple and fast and allows your child to gradually gain more independence as they age and become better able to find their way on their own. We know your child will have a fun time growing their faith at Chapel Hill. We want to make sure you are able to have peace of mind that your child is safe and secure while you explore your own spiritual growth during worship or Adult Sunday School. Please let us know if you have any input of ways we could make this system work better for you. Contact Childcare Coordinator, Deanne Austin, or Director of Children’s Ministries, Sharon Brown, with questions or comments.
