FAITH VILLAGE is in full swing ~ you won’t want to miss a Sunday ! !

First Semester:  This fall we will focus on the theme of “The Light Shines in the Darkness” as we explore how God steps into our lives in hard times and offers us comfort, refuge, hope, and even joy.

September 20 – October 18
Deliver Us
(Bible Story Reference: Exodus)

When it seems there is no solution to our problem, God is there, offering a way out.  We will explore the story of the Exodus and Moses as we see how God still provides us deliverance from oppression, food in the dessert, and the hope for the promised land.

October 25-November 22
Life is Hard, but God is Good

Times get tough.  Things don’t go our way.  Bullies try to push us around.  Where is God when life doesn’t seem fair?  How do we find hope when things seem rotten?  We will explore several stories from the Bible of how our ancestors of the faith have wrestled with these very questions.

December 6-December 20
Jesus, our Deliverer

Jesus is called Prince of Peace, Deliverer, Savior–but why?  This Advent season we will look at the Christmas story for clues.

Second Semester:  In the second half of the year we’ll go with “Jesus on Tour” and experience the teachings Jesus gave during his days of traveling ministry.

Gliding Through Galilee

Jesus traveled through Galilee teaching about God.  We’ll look at some of the “Greatest Hits” of this tour like the feeding of 5000 people with just table scraps and the Sermon on the Mount.

February 21-March 28
Servant Leader

Jesus was clear that there is no one left out of God’s love–not one left behind.  When the world turns its back on people, followers of Christ embrace and serve them.  How do we follow this example today?

April 11-May 16
Upside Down and Inside Out

Jesus taught about a world in which the last would be first and the first would be last.  He didn’t go along with the world’s idea of who’s hot and who’s not.  In fact, in Jesus’ teachings, it is often the least important, the least likely that becomes the hero.  We will look at a few stories that highlight this upside down way of looking at the world, and what it might mean for us.
