Our children model their faith after the adults they see. The adult volunteers who support Children’s Ministries are the strong foundation on which our children are able to build their faith. Volunteers opportunities abound; Find a way to plug in today!

Faith Village Shepherd
Description: Your role is to build relationships with the children in the class to which you are assigned, and to nurture each child so she or he will experience the love of Christ through you.  You will also assist the workshop leaders and partner with the kids to learn more about our God.
Preparation: Weekly preparation is minimal, and the most important characteristic is a caring heart.
Time Commitment: (Sunday Mornings 10:10-11:20) Shepherds generally stay with their group for at least one semester, and preferably an entire year of learning. Shepherds are often partnered to allow for coverage on Sundays that one must be absent.

Faith Village Workshop Leader
Description: The purpose of your role is to plan and implement weekly lessons that will provide each child with an opportunity to learn and grow in faith and to nurture each child so that she or he will experience the love of Christ through you. Through a workshop that matches your particular gifts and interests, you will interact with several different age levels of Faith Village children. Workshops vary, but include Cooking, Music, Drama, Computers, Art, Games, Science, and Cinema. Click here to see which workshops we are planning.
Preparation: Initial planning and preparation for the start of the rotation is generally less than one hour in conjunction with the assistant workshop leader or co-leader. Activities suggestions are provided through the curriculum resources and need only be adapted for different age levels by the workshop leader. Weekly preparation is also minimal and involves making sure that the materials and workshop area are ready for Sunday.
Time Commitment: (Sunday Mornings, 10:10 – 11:20) Workshops leaders commit to one rotation, generally 4-5 weeks. Workshop leaders are generally partnered with assistant leaders to provide coverage when the leader must be absent.

Faith Village Assistant- or Co- Workshop Leader

Grapple Large Group Leader
Description: Your role is to plan and facilitate weekly lessons for the class as large group, using the easy-to-follow Grapple lesson plans, allowing preteens to engage the Bible and grow their faith.
Preparation: Each week leader will need to read the lesson, gather supplies, copy the lesson pages, and check which games the kids voted for online.  Weekly prep time is about 30 minutes.
Time Commitment: (Sunday Mornings, 10:10 – 11:20)  Leader is asked to commit to at least one semester of weekly service.  Substitute can be arranged for occasions when leader must be absent, but this group responds better to consistency of leadership.  Weekly prep time is about 30 minutes.

Grapple Small Group Leader
Description: Each week you help facilitate the small group discussions and “break out” groups as the preteeens discuss the daily lesson and explore how it applies to their own life.
Preparation: None required.  You may feel more comfortable reading through the weekly lesson in advance.
Time Commitment: (Sundays, 10:10-11:20am) Small Group Leaders are asked to commit to at least one semester of weekly service.  Substitute can be arranged for occasions when leader must be absent, but this group responds better to consistency of leadership.

Grapple WebSite Manager
Description: Your role is to manage the user-friendly website designed by Grapple for web-newbies.  Simple website management includes customizing content by selecting the assigned weekly lessons, updating calendar events, and basic administration.
Preparation: None.
Time Commitment: Web Manager is asked to commit to one year of service.  Time commitment is less than 30 minutes per week and tasks can be done from home, on your schedule.

K.I.S.S. (Kids in Sacred Space)
Description: Your role is to create an environment that enhances children’s ability to experience God’s love by staging an eye-catching focal point for the opening of Faith Village in Bible Times Square (Fellowship Hall).
Preparation: Materials, theme, and design ideas all provided
Time Commitment: One time, 1-2 hours, flexible timing

B.A.M. (Bulletin-Board Art Ministry)
Description: Your role is to help celebrate programming, teach kids about God and our church, and publicize current and future events through bulletin board displays.
Preparation: Materials, theme, and design ideas provided
Time Commitment: One time, less than one hour, flexible timing

Christ’s Kids Youth Group Event Leader
Description: Help coordinate and lead 4th and 5th grade kids as they build friendships and their relationship with God.
Preparation: Plan for events and make required reservations, arrange drivers/chaperones, make sure supplies are prepared. Publicity provided by church staff.
Time Commitment: Varies, usually one time/one event; 1-2 hours preparation, and 2-4 hours spent at the event itself.

Children’s Ministries Project Volunteer
Description: Support Children’s Ministries staff by assisting with special projects, publications, or craft preparation.
Preparation: None
Time Commitment: Varies; 1-2 hours, timing flexible.
