Youth Leadership Gathering and Youth House Fall Clean-Up!

Youth, youth leadership, and parents gather Thursday evening, September 9, 2010 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Youth House! During our first hour we will have opportunities for our leaders to share visions for the approaching year.  Starting at 7:30 PM we will roll up our sleeve and do a little fall cleaning in preparation for kick-off.  We will have cleaning supplies, brooms and even a hedge trimmer!  Contact Jorge at chumyc@aol.com with questions.

Formula K (Our kind of sabbath!)

Grades 6 – 12, meet at Formula K Family Fun Park on September 12, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Join friends for 2 hours of unlimited outdoor games! Bumper cars, go-carts, miniature golf, and sizzler ride. Of course, a little pizza and soda is included. Paintball and arcade games are NOT included. Cost is $20. Scholarships are available. Please contact Jorge with any questions at chumyc@aol.com.

Pay It Forward

God provides abundantly!

Because of the continued gifts of service, talents and monetary support, the congregation at Chapel Hill, was able to provide partial scholarships for 40 campers and 10 youth on a mission, during the summer of 2010.  Your stewardship has allowed our youth to concentrate on paying forward their gifts and talents instead of focusing on fund raising and sales.  Thanks for helping our youth learn to give without the need to have immediate, personal gain!

Each youth that receives scholarship funding from Chapel Hill is required to participate in at least three acts of service throughout the year.  These service opportunities are purposely diversified to serve individuals, our church home, and our local community.  Examples of last year’s opportunities included, Bingo at Ministry with Community, Martha’s Table, Youth house yard clean-up, church mulch, compost repair, pastoral project and Vacation Bible School leadership.

We are always looking for opportunities to better serve our community.  If you have any suggestions, please contact me at jorgecostales@pchum.org.
